Expert and passionate teacher : You will be taught by an experienced native French teacher, highly qualified to teach French as a Foreign Language.

Structured Curriculum : We structure our classes according to the six-level scale of the Common European Reference Framework for Languages (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2), an internationally recognised standard for describing language proficiency. The classes follow a well-defined curriculum and each lesson builds on the previous one, so you’re always progressing at a comfortable pace. 

Personalised Approach : Our approach is also flexible and personalised. The lessons are tailored to your individual needs and interests to help you succeed and get you moving towards your language goals.

Conversational Focus : We cover all essential language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—but do emphasize real-life communication from the start, to build confidence and prepare you for everyday French interactions. We use various real-world material and incorporate practical tasks that mimic real-life scenarios, such as shopping at the market or planning a trip to get you talking from day one !

By combining these elements, we ensure that every student not only learns French but enjoys learning French.

The French language levels

The A1 level in French, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), is the starting point of your language-learning journey. At the end of this level, you are able to understand and use very simple language in routine situations. You can communicate in a limited way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly. The A1 level is all about learning the essentials so you can confidently begin using French in your everyday life.

The A2 level in the CEFR framework represents an elementary understanding of French. At this level, you can handle simple, everyday interactions and talk about familiar topics or routine tasks using simple phrases. You can understand and respond in slow, clear speech. Reaching A2 means you can handle day-to-day situations in French and engage in simple, practical conversations.

The B1 level means that you’ve reached an independent stage in your French-learning journey. At this level, you can speak confidently without requiring much help and with reasonable fluency, express personal opinions, and understand the main points of conversations or texts on familiar topics. Achieving B1 level means you’ve moved beyond basic survival skills in French—you’re now ready to explore the language independently and engage in meaningful conversations

The B2 level marks a significant step as you can now engage in confident, spontaneous conversations on a variety of topics, understand more complex and abstract ideas, and express yourself clearly in both spoken and written French. You can also express ideas with nuance and use French in professional environments. Reaching B2 level means you’ve moved beyond conversational fluency and can now express yourself with confidence and sophistication in most situations!

The C1 level represents a high degree of proficiency in French. At this stage, you can use the language effectively, flexibly, and confidently in social, academic, and professional contexts. You’re able to understand and produce complex, nuanced language with ease, precision, and sophistication, even in demanding situations. You’re nearing mastery of the language, able to communicate with ease and finesse in almost any context!

The C2 level is the pinnacle of the CEFR framework, representing near-native proficiency in French. At this level, you can effortlessly understand, produce, and interpret even the most complex language in any context, whether professional, academic, or casual. You are able to navigate cultural nuances, humor, and idiomatic language like a native speaker. You have now achieved mastery of French !
